The Beach House, West Vancouver’s most iconic restaurant, reopened after major renovations in November 2019. Located in a heritage 1912 building adjacent to the Dundarave Pier, the Beach House is owned and operated by Earls.
The impressive redesign was led by Earls Designer Kimberley Hume. The new interior is bright and open with direct views of the seaside. Preserving the eatery’s heritage building designation, the redesign highlights include local art, vintage photos, and eclectic antiques.
The Beach House also features an updated private event space on the upper level of the building called The Landing. However, it’s the patrons on the restaurant’s expansive patio, that can lay claim to the best seaside scenery in ‘West Van’. The patio’s unparalleled views are protected by a large white timber pergola topped with versatile retractable roofs, making the duo perfect for rainy or sunny days.
A leading construction company in Western Canada, Norson Construction, partnered with ShadeFX to complete the over 1,000 sq ft patio. With the help of our Product Specialist, Norson designed and built the large pergola. Once the plans were finalized, ShadeFX manufactured and installed three 20’x18’ retractable roofs with gutters, providing watertight coverage to the new outdoor space.
Electing to add the fire-retardant fabric line of Serge Ferrari enabled Norwood to install commercial-grade heaters below the structure, providing much-needed heat on cooler days. The fabric colour was chosen in white to match the white pergola and nautical theme.
The Beach House’s patio offers breathtaking views and an unmatched outdoor atmosphere. With a large covered patio and ample heating, patrons can dine while enjoying the restaurant’s waterfront whether rain or shine.
