A rapidly expanding community, the city of Brampton has doubled in population over the past 20 years. With a mix of development both pre and post turn of the century, the look and feel of each neighborhood vastly differ throughout the city.
Located on the northern side of Brampton, the Crooks find themselves in a maturely developed area of the community. Spacious lots and fully gown trees provide coverage and privacy in front of the bay and gable inspired homes.
An armor stone step and lined garden beds carry the rustic landscape feel from the front of the property to the back. Patio pavers that complement the red brick of the residence create a continuity between the home and backyard setting.
A customer designed wood pergola was built off the back-sliding door to define and shade the barbeque and dining area. Looking for greater use of the space through the summer, the Crooks added a 14’ x 10’ retractable rope canopy.
“It’s been a great addition to our backyard, and we’ve had a lot of favorable comments. Bring on the summer!”
– Bill Crooks
ShadeFX installed the Sunbrella Tresco Linen shade, locating the rope pulley on the post closest to the house entrance. The addition of the canopy now provides the Crooks with full access to their backyard patio regardless of the pending forecast.
