Sunshine and swimming pools go hand in hand, especially during the warmer months. Homeowners in Cambridge, Ontario kept this in mind as they remodelled their entire backyard.

They enlisted the help of local professionals, Gelderman Landscape Services, to landscape and install a large custom pool at the back of their house. Having a space to retreat from the sun was a priority. Once the landscaping was near completion, they reached out to ShadeFX for a shade solution to fit their needs.

Not wanting a traditional, wooden look, the homeowners chose an aluminum retractable shade structure. ShadeFX manufactured and installed a 12’x’14’ aluminum structure with a manual retractable canopy. The new structure was powder coated white to match with the homeowner’s off-white fence. For the canopy fabric, they chose the waterproof and fire-retardant Ferrari in a Concrete color.

A large sectional with grey cushions is accentuated with bright cyan and yellow pillows. A matching blue outdoor rug ties the space together for a cohesive look.

The new outdoor area not only offers shade relief from the sun, but the canopy adds UV protection. It’s an enjoyable space for the homeowners to retreat and relax with the family while enjoying the pool.
