K Welton Construction specified and installed ShadeFX at a newly renovated Portola Valley, California residence. The contracting firm specializing in building modern residences for ‘very specific architects,’ chose ShadeFX as the retractable shade solution for its functionality, customization ability and minimalist design.

Working closely with ShadeFX, K Welton’s application includes two motorized retractable shades tilted to shed rain to the outside of the pergola. The canopy drop is reduced to thirteen inches so that the retracted stack does not obstruct the windows, doors, and lights. The particular specification also required the canopy wings of both canopies to be aligned and the anodized component finish maintained to compliment the modern appeal.
