The Cloudveil is a luxury hotel with unmatched views of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park. Located in the heart of the historic Town Square, the newly renovated building boasts spacious guest rooms appointed with modern amenities, plush bedding, and mountain views from every room.
Formerly used for hosting local high school proms and events dating back decades, the Cloudveil team wanted to preserve that history while honouring the area’s natural beauty.
The hotel’s new exterior is a mix of stone, wood, and metal, while the inside reflects a modern and natural combination of leather and wood. As guests enter the lobby, they are greeted by a three-story granite wall, an oversized wood-burning fireplace, and a 3,000-pound boulder as the front desk.
The amenities include a full-service restaurant, pre-function kitchen, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art gym, a stocked pantry on each floor, a heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Town Square.
The rooftop terrace is part of a 5,000 sq. ft. open-air space that features a robust retractable weather solution. Working with Dick Anderson Construction, ShadeFX manufactured four 18′ x 18′ and two 18’ x 14′ custom structures with retractable roofs to provide sun and rain protection to the terrace.
The double post structures were powder coated traffic black, maintaining the modern look, while the motor-operated retractable roofs are in a neutral Ferrari Champagne fabric. Twelve gas-powered heaters were installed underneath, and ten motorized rolldown screens with clear vinyl were added around the perimeter, completing the all-seasons space.
The new space offers ongoing community programming such as daybreak yoga, live music, and stargazing. During inclement weather, guests can take shelter from the sun, rain, or cold, beneath the versatile shade. When the sky clears, the roofs can be retracted for an alfresco gathering.
