ShadeFX Introduces Topside Pergola Canopies

Pergolas are a great way to define an outdoor space, make the atmosphere you want for those special events, or in a more practical sense, a way to hang lighting, ceiling fans, speakers, radiant heaters etc.

For a lot of commercial projects, this has been difficult for ShadeFX. Our pergola canopies could not operate under the pergola where all these things were mounted and the pergola owner faced a choice, one or the other but not both. Until now.

Introducing the ShadeFX Topside installation option. With the addition of a few brackets, the complete re-engineering of our drive system, and the changing of a few materials (translation: it wasn’t easy) we can now install our canopy systems ‘upside down’ and on top of your pergola.

Finally, a retractable canopy that will protect from sun and rain, and operate in harmony with all the accoutrements of a fully loaded pergola. Our showcase gallery demonstrates the practical benefits of a topside installation.
